Today I got hit by a car. God awful. I made the horrid mistake of going to wal-mart for the first time in about 10 years and as I as driving through the parking lot a 68 year old man in a 15 year old saturn decided to cut across the parking spaces and hit my jeep on the driver's side at about 40 MPH. The jeep almost tipped over, the dog pissed all over the place and my shoulder went numb. I got out to exchange insurance info with the guy and he began screaming at me about how I hit him and how I am going to have to pay for the damage to his car (which had pretty much exploded). Absofuckinglutely ridiculous. The driver's side of my jeep was dented at least 6 inches and may have frame damage. Because the asshole was so disagreeable I decided to call the police. Until the police came the guy proceeded to berate, harass and insult me repeatedly blaming the accident on me. He refused to give me his licence or insurance info even though I gave him mine.

The police woman finally arrived and the jerkoff started yelling over me so I could not tell the cop what happened. The cop yelled at both of us to shut up and I went to sit in my jeep but the fucker followed her to her car and kept yelling about how I hit him and need to pay for his car. The cop ran all the paperwork, gave the asshole a copy of the police report and then came to talk to me. She told me that she could tell by the way the vehicles were facing and my skidmarks that the accident was entirely his fault. She apologized for yelling and said she was just trying to get him to shut up. Luckily I had a really helpful police lady that reassured me that I would not have to pay for any of the damages.

Most importantly though, Sofa and I are okay. She's been through two major car accidents in her 3 years! And she still loves car rides!! Brave little thing!

hellish

Last night was horribly hellish. At about 7 we went to go take a walk with the dog and heard a spraying sound in the basement. We went down and saw a gushing gas leak coming from the dryer hose. Pete's response was helpful. He began to swear, yell and throw things. I decided that the best course of action (obviously) was to call the National Fuel gas emergency line. Pete disagreed and in the meantime called his father. After about 15 minutes we had managed to patch the leak with duct tape, open two large windows in the basement and the gas company was to be here momentarily. I went back down into the basement to find Pete's dad thrashing to open a third window. He asked me if I thought he should break the window and I told him that there was plenty air flow, the leak had been patched and that I thought we should just wait for the gas company. He then proceeded to laugh at me and break my goddamn window with a hammer!!!! By the time I ran outside to tell Pete the gas man showed up. Pete's father came from the basement and started yelling at the gas man for taking so long. Pete was screaming at his father to leave our house and we eventually had to call Pete's mom to take his dad away. I have never in my life dealt with someone who handles emergencies so poorly. The man actually had the audacity to mock me before damaging my property when the problem had been all but entirely solved! The man is absolutely INSANE!!

Needles to say Pete and I are both incredibly angry at his father and we now know NEVER to contact him during an emergency again!

Rankings!

So they finally posted the rankings for the QOTR.

http://senecapokerrooms.com/tournaments/queenoftheriver.php

It looks like they decided to chop the pot at 5 players which is a little lame being that I went out 7th. It's pretty sweet as far as the points go though because the girls who placed 1-5 only got 63 points (instead of 1st getting 100) and I ended up with 54.... so I'm in pretty damn good shape.

R.I.P. anacones

My favoritest bar in the whole world is closing sometime within the next month and this saddens me greatly. I do believe that there was a good year or two when Amanda and I were there every single day.

It was the first bar I ever drank in. I was 17. By the time I was old enough to drink I was a regular for so long that the owner gave me a bottle of champagne for my 21st birthday. That same day Amanda and Marta locked me in the bar's bathroom for what seemed like hours. I got really scared and started yelling and when they finally let me out they surprised me with about 20 friends and a brownie cake (lots of you were there!).

Everything important that has happened to me in the past 6 years either occurred or was celebrated there...

I am really going to miss anacones...

So last night Amanda and I went to Seneca Niagara to take part in this tournament -

There were 118 people and a $50 buy in. I expected the tournament to be a total crapshoot but was pleasantly surprised at how predictable and cautious most of the girls were. I ended up coming in 7th out of 118. Not too bad. Won $200 and got a neat little silver medallion thingy for making the final table. Amanda did very well for her first time playing in a casino - just out of the money at 28th.

The greatest part is that they hold the tournament once a month and you accrue points by finishing in the money. Whoever gets the most points throughout the year gets a Movado watch worth 2k or something ridiculous. It'll be a nice Christmas gift for myself next year!

A new car...

So I am looking to get a new automobile within the next couple months. As of now there are 2 front-runners and I was wondering what people thought.

The first option is the Mazda CX-7 with a 244-hp Direct-Injection TURBO-CHARGED engine and AWD! We'd get it loaded with leather heated seats and a GPS and all that good stuff.

The other option is the Toyota FJ Cruiser in yellow. I LOVELOVELOVE yellow trucks. This truck is super-sturdy and capable of offroading. This also comes with leather heated seats and a GPS and the best part is that it had body-colored interior accessories so there is yellow all over the inside!

It's a tough decision... right now we have a Subaru WRX turbo with AWD(like the mazda) and I loooove the power and control. On the other hand I love the versatility and ruggedness of my jeep and the toyota also has this. What should I do!?

my ordinary world...

You know... there was a good time in my life when I lived like a rockstar. I know and know of a few who partied as hard as I did but none that partied harder. I partied all day every day... I'd go days at a time not needing sleep and I sacrificed many things. I can think of at least 3 times off the top of my head that I easily could have died. At the lowest and highest points there was nothing I wouldn't do to keep the party going.... and I'm eternally grateful that those that I love are still with me after all of it.

I realized today how different my life is now. I woke up at 9 today even though I didn't have to work and I cleaned my house for about 6 hours... and I didn't mind. I have amazing friends, a fabulous boyfriend and they are just a part of the family that loves me.

Sometimes I do cry for yesterday... I miss running around rochester like pirates talking in rhyme with Amanda at 6am , dancing until the lights came on at 5am, chasing after the ice cream truck at 1pm still awake from the night before as my sister screams "put your beer down before you get ice cream!!!", staring at the moving lights in toronto as if they were an icon of my religion...

But I have a good world now, a real good world... and I'm damn lucky to be alive and to have made it this far. It may be an ordinary world but it's a real good world...

Thanks guys...

"Ordinary World"

Came in from a rainy Thursday
On the avenue
Thought I heard you talking softly

I turned on the lights, the TV
And the radio
Still I can't escape the ghost of you

What has happened to it all?
Crazy, some are saying
Where is the life that I recognize?
Gone away

But I won't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to survive

Passion or coincidence
Once prompted you to say
"Pride will tear us both apart"
Well now pride's gone out the window
Cross the rooftops
Run away
Left me in the vacuum of my heart

What is happening to me?
Crazy, some'd say
Where is my friend when I need you most?
Gone away

But I won't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to survive

Papers in the roadside
Tell of suffering and greed
Here today, forgot tomorrow
Ooh, here besides the news
Of holy war and holy need
Ours is just a little sorrowed talk

And I don't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find
And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to survive

Every one
Is my world, I will learn to survive
Any one
Is my world, I will learn to survive
Any one
Is my world
Every one
Is my world

Today I had my third interview with Citizens Bank and at the end of it the district manager said "so, when would you like to start?"!!

Woo! It is a bit of a pay cut but it is waaay worth it to get out of collections. Being that I have financial experience I qualified to be an in-store banker in a Tops location instead of just a teller which is great because it is a bit more responsibility and a bit more $$. Yay for a good job with nice folk, a pension plan (!), a $7000 first time homeowner bonus if I buy a house (which is super sweet because we own our house right now but since I was added on the deed afterwards and not at the time of purchase I still qualify) and a $5000/semester tuition compensation! I'll even get my birthday as a paid day off!

The sweetest part is that Amanda got the same job in a different location!

Woo!

Actually, I know this is correct. there is a 38 year old man in california with the same name as me. I hate it but have learned to deal with it.

HowManyOfMe.com

There are:
2
people with my name
in the U.S.A.

How many have your name?
